The Melton Mustafa Orchestra is a powerhouse orchestra in the Basie tradition, rooted in swing and blues, though also featuring bebop, modal and Afro-Cuban flavors. The power and majesty of a big band coupled with Mustafa's unique composing style make this big band a stand-out. Melton's Jazz Quintet is on track for his U.S. Tour and is ready to excite his fans world-wide.

Melton has recorded and toured with the Count Basie Orchestra, Bobby Watson, Jaco Pastorius, Arthur Baron's Afro Blue Band among others. Mustafa has released two CD's entitled "Boiling Point" and "St. Louis Blues" Both were critically acclaimed for the original compositions and for the brilliant trumpet solo work.
